1. Our website uses cookies
Cookies are text files, which are stored on a terminal device by the Internet browser.
There are two types of cookies. Persistent cookies are saved to the user’s terminal device (for example, computer, tablet, smart phone) as files for up to 24 months. The individual storage times for different cookies are shown in the cookie settings. Session cookies are stored only temporarily and will expire as soon as you exit the website.
The user has the possibility to adjust cookie preferences through the settings on the cookie banner. The first time a user visits the webpage, the cookie banner gathers either the consent of the user for different cookie types or stores the setting that the user only accepts necessary cookies. The preferences set by the user are stored for future visits until the maximum storage time for consent lapses, after which the user is asked to provide consent again. The user also has the option to adjust their preferences through the cookie settings link/icon, through which consent can be revoked or consent can be given for specific cookie types.
The user can delete cookies from a terminal device by adjusting browser settings. It is possible to block all cookies, choose which types of cookies to accept, or to delete all cookies from the session once the window has been closed, for example. Depending on the browser settings or if cookies have been deleted from the device, the consent cookie may no longer be stored on the device, which may result in the cookie banner requesting for selection of cookie preferences again during the next visit to the site. This has no adverse effects, rather the banner will request the user to select their preferences whenever necessary.
Our company operates many different brand websites. We use a separate cookie consent system for each brand website. This means that consent is requested separately on each different website. This way the site visitor can select the cookies they want to consent to for each website separately.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are text files which are stored on the user’s terminal device (for example, computer, tablet, smart phone) by the Internet browser. Cookies have a personal identifier, which enables identifying the user. We utilize cookies to ensure that our online services are user-friendly, of high-quality, and that we are equipped to develop these services. Cookies are also used in advertisement targeting.
Cookies do not move on the Internet unassisted. They are stored on the terminal device only when the user visits websites. Cookies have a unique identifier, which enables identifying the user. Cookies do not pose any harm to a computer or distract from surfing online. Cookies are normal text files, which cannot contain viruses.
There are two types of cookies: session and persistent cookies. Session cookies will expire when the current session ends. Persistent cookies will be stored on your device for a determined time, after which they are deleted. These cookies can be recreated each time you visit web or mobile services, which use cookies. In some cases, data collected through cookies can enable identifying individuals. This is possible, for example, by identifying IP (Internet Protocol) addresses.
3. Why do we use cookies?
We utilize cookies so that we can ensure that our electronic services are user-friendly, of high-quality, and that we are equipped to develop these services. Cookies are also used in advertisement targeting.
The use of strictly necessary cookies is limited to what is necessary for the functioning of the website, as well as what the visitor has specifically requested from the service, so that the website can be offered to the visitor.
The use of nonessential cookies is based on user consent. If the visitor consents to the use of nonessential cookies, we collect data concerning how visitors use our website and how we could optimize our website.
Cookies help us to track the behavior of users, meaning information about how visitors use our online services, which products and services interest them the most, and if they have visited our website before. Cookies enable remembering the visitor’s preferences and selected settings.
Our primary goal is to use this data in order to provide better online experiences as well as improve our services and products. We also aim to target our advertisement and therefore, we want to provide our customers with those services and products that are of interest to them. We use this collected data also for creating target audience and remarketing audience profiles, basing this on how individuals use our website, the demographic information that is available, or what kinds of interests they seem to show.
4. What type of cookies do we use?
Cookies can be divided into strictly necessary, functional, performance, and advertising cookies. 5. How long are cookies stored?
Persistent cookies are stored on the terminal device of the user and they are stored for up to 24 months. Session cookies are saved only temporarily and expire when the current session ends. Information on the storage times for individual cookies can be found in the cookie settings.
6. Who has access to the information and where is information transferred?
Many of the cookies we use gather information only for our own use (through the use of our contractors) and third-parties do not have access to the information. Some of the cookies that gather data transfer this information to our partners and service providers as well, such as to Meta or Google, with which we have written agreements. In section 4 of the cookie policy you can check which partners or service providers we use specifically on this website, as well as visit their own policies on their sites. Such policies explain further how potential personal information is processed by them and the retention periods in their own systems.
Some of our cookies transfer information outside of the European Economic Area (EEA). In these situations, if the transfer of data includes the processing of personal information, we apply appropriate transfer mechanisms for transfers outside the EEA. In the case of the cookies we use, these cookies transfer information to the United States of America, which the European Commission has decided through the use of the EU-US Data Protection Framework to provide an adequate level of protection for the processing of personal information in a third country.
7. How do I change the settings and control how cookies are used?
According to the law, we can save strictly necessary cookies on your device if it is absolutely important for the functioning of the webpage. The law also demands that we ask for your consent to use nonessential cookies; this consent can be managed or revoked at any time. When giving your consent, you have been told what cookies we will save to your device and for what purpose they will be used.
You can affect cookie preferences, give your consent, change settings, and revoke your consent through the cookie banner and cookie settings. If you revoke your consent for the use of nonessential cookies, the use of these cookies will cease. However the previous processing of data, including possible processing of personal information, that occurred until that point was possible on the basis of consent.
